To be honest, though I have been making an effort to get some practice in, I haven’t been as consistent as I would like to be. Gradually, though, with a little here and a little there, I have kept up on working on a few things. So for all who are interested, here is a quick update on a few of my works in progress.
Watercolor experimentation
May I just say that I am fully aware that watercolors are NOT my stronghold. I know some people who are absolute geniuses with watercolors…..but that is not me. I still had a lot of fun though and it’s so fun to experiment with the colors. I even tried doing some with Jacob one night. Here is the product of that session.
We were looking to buy a new coffee pot at the time. I think it inspired him.
Sketches
I have been so inspired by children lately (possibly because of this blog haha.) Up until this point, I have done a good deal of my figure sketches from pictures I’ve found on Pinterest of fashion models and ballerinas. Even though they are great for figuring out anatomy, I have realized they don’t have practically any…..fat. Far less than an average human has. It’s been a lot of fun drawing all these precious little chunky children for a change. I’m hoping to try to get a sketch of Clary one of these nap times (since that is the only time she really sits still).
So there you have it, just a little update on the practice I’ve been trying to get in. I know they are nothing too crazy, but I hope you enjoy them!
